Doing some washing and general cleaning up around the place in preparation for departure to Cape Jervis to catch the ferry to Kangaroo Island (where hopefully it is a bit cooler).

Did my usual walk to Port Broughton this morning and was amazed to find a pair of headphones I had lost while walking two weeks ago. I spent ages looking for them at the time because I had no others and nowhere here to buy new ones. They had been washed in with the tide and after a quick rinse in fresh water, away they went!

Incredibly hot as this part of South Australia is experiencing the first official heat wave EVER recorded in November.

So hot in fact that I went for my first swim since arriving here. I had forgotten how incredibly salty the water is and I could not have drowned if I tried. I was so buoyant that I could easily float on my back keeping my feet and hands almost completely out of the water.

Pretty good spot for a clothes line.
