3 Months on Road

Have now been away for exactly 3 calendar months or 93 days, has had it moments so far 🙂

Went for a couple of days ride around Yorke Peninsular, culminating in a visit to Cape Spencer, the most southern point of the peninsular.

I am absolutely amazed by the fact that the entire peninsular is covered in wheat fields for kilometre after kilometre after kilometre. Where does it all go?

I have also been very taken with the friendliness of people around this area. They are very quick to give you a wave or a nod or say g’day. A nice and pleasant change.

They even have nice names for their streets.

They are shittin’ me right?

I slowed to a crawl in case it actually WAS an ostrich masquerading as an emu, who would want to hit one of those? No wonder emus have an identity crisis.

As far south as I could go, Cape Spencer lighthouse from where you can see Kangaroo Island.

Spent the night at Warooka where they have ‘special’ shops

and they even kill the meat before selling it to you.

I have learned to control my urge to spread all my belongings around the room (mainly because I didn’t have most of it with me) :-]

They REALLY love their windmills in South Australia. The ‘Wattle Point Wind Farm’ was the largest in Australia when it was built.

Thought that I would post this photo of me in case you have forgotten what a fine specimen of a man I am 🙂
