Port Hedland Day 13

Bit of a quiet day just doing shopping and hanging around South Hedland. Me and Briz had a few beers and we all went out for dinner at an ‘all you can eat’ chinese place for $15 including a drink.

Had a visitor in my tent in the wee hours of this morning, woke up to be confronted by a staffy dog that had made it’s way in under the fly. Scared the living daylights (and other things) out of me. It may have been left behind by someone but the Ranger was called.

Breakfast at the camp kitchen.

day1309

Enormous iron ore ore carrier being helped by tugs into the very ordinary harbour.

Rio Tinto harvest salt here.

day1313

The iron ore trains are kilometres long!

day1314

Briz reckons he should have this on the back of his Navara as I am always following him 🙂

day1315

Ivan fooling around in a real dinky-di emporium in Port Hedland while I was doing my own hedland act with Hoss’s hat from Bonanza.

Lubed the chain on the ‘Bird but it didn’t move today. Back tyre is looking very second hand and I had hoped it would last a fair bit longer. Will need to get another service done in Broome after a couple of day at Cape Keraudren and another couple of days at Barnhill.
